These days, schools need to watch every penny. So why not tap into a source of completely free, environmentally friendly energy that will reduce your electricity bills without costing anything up front?

A Windcrop wind turbine is clean, compact and quick to install, as well as being completely safe for all forms of wildlife. It even provides a great starting point for teaching children about the environment. We handle all the paperwork, so there is no extra work for your school office. Browse these case studies to see how other schools have benefited from free wind energy.
We are proud to be working closely with a selection of schools to help bring renewable energy to life through interactive presentations explaining the importance of wind power for the next generation.

We have already delivered interactive presentations for schools including Scarning Primary School and Glebelands Primary School to help pupils understand the history of energy, where it comes from and how it is used.

We believe it is important to help engage and educate children at a young age about the environment. Our presentations have received great feedback from head teachers who believed they were a great opportunity for pupils to expand on what they were already covering in the curriculum and inspired children to form their own opinions about renewable energy.

We work hard to bring the subject to life by including either demonstration turbine heads or field trips to see nearby turbines we have already installed, plus facts children can easily understand about the amount of energy used to power everyday items. We aim to ensure pupils can see how renewable energy, especially wind power, could be used to replace fossil fuels and protect the environment for the future.

Grahame Chambers, head teacher at Scarning Primary School said:  “The primary years are vitally important for sowing the seeds of curiosity and we encourage all our pupils to learn about the importance of protecting the environment. Green energy will play a large part in their future and how better to learn more than by seeing it put into practice.”

Glebeland Primary School’s head teacher, Alan Williams, added: “We wanted to give the class the chance to expand upon what they are currently covering in the curriculum. The Windcrop talk inspired the children to think for themselves about green issues. We are always looking for ways to improve the school’s eco-status and our pupils are very interested in these issues.”

Windcrop is also currently working with a selection of schools across Norfolk with planning applications in progress to have turbines installed.

We believe it makes sense for schools to use renewable energy sources. They not only cut electricity costs, one of the biggest expenditures for a school, but provide pupils with first-hand experience through their own, interactive, green-energy, learning tools.
All our school installations will be supplied with monitoring and data collection systems which can be used as educational tools to help with maths, science and other curriculum subjects.
