Site Assessment

We can assess the general suitability of your site without visiting your site. We check the wind speed for your property with the Carbon Trust’s Wind Yield Estimator, and use maps and satellite imagery to check for trees or tall buildings.

Once we have established that your site is suitable in principle, we will arrange a time to visit you and work out exactly where the wind turbine could go.

We will consider all the practical factors such as wind speed, exposure to the wind and connection point. We will also take into account how you use your land, visual considerations and the likely concerns of your neighbours. We often find that the wind turbine can be placed on a piece of land that is not being used for anything else.

Our wind turbines are completely safe for both wildlife and livestock (although fences may be required to stop them being used as rubbing posts!). We work with a specialist ecology consultant who helps us make sure your wind turbine will have no negative impacts on your local environment.

Our site assessments normally take around 1.5 hours and are arranged at a time to suit you. There is no need for us to disturb anything on site.
