The Planning Process
One of the great strengths of our service is that there is no form-filling, letter-writing or contacting your district council; we handle the whole process of obtaining planning permission for you.
Once your site has been assessed, we will ask you to sign a licence that allows us to put a wind turbine on your property. This licence also appoints us as your agents for the purpose of obtaining planning permission. We will then deal with the authorities on your behalf throughout the process.
It takes about two weeks to draw up and submit your application. The time taken to accept and process a planning application varies widely between councils, and between individual cases. We usually advise landowners to expect a wait of twelve to sixteen weeks but this period can extend if environmental or ecological surveys are required.
As well as seeking planning permission, we also obtain permission for you to connect your turbine to the national grid, which is required before you start using your turbine.
Once we have received planning and connection permission, your wind turbine can normally be up and running within one month.
